Oh, I hate doing reviews like this. My wife and I are confirmed BnB geeks. In the past 20+ years we've been to dozens. We love the places, the hosts and of course the breakfasts. I think our visit to the Main Street BnB was a bit untypical (both for them and us). The proprietor was out of town celebrating a grandchild's graduation. So there was no one to greet us (or any note to tell us what to do on checking in or directions). We were a bit lost. Called the main phone number and the proprietor was quite helpful. Lodging was nice. An older (maybe the oldest house in Glasgow) property filled with antiques and knick-knacks. Our bedroom nice - filled with the usual assortment of furniture (and a warm shower). We had to battle with other guests (apparently long term guests, a bit like a boarding house) over the thermostat. Awfully cold at night with the air conditioning on.
The substitute cook was delightful. She made a basic breakfast (eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit). But not the BnB fare we look forward to. More like chain-hotel food.
I'm sure our stay was a unique situation. Our take-away: really missed the rich interaction with the proprietor. These enrichen our stays. Room/property nice. Breakfast disappointing.
