Days Inn Lexington

Disgusting, drugs, alcohol, use at pool, was to be there 6 days checked out after second room was as bad as the first. Mold, sticky floors, missing hardware, rust paint everywhere

I recently stayed at this hotel as part of a group, and unfortunately, we experienced numerous issues during our stay. When we arrived, the TV in our first room was not working. We initially thought the remote was the problem, but even after receiving a replacement, the TV still would not work. A front desk employee came to the room and ran diagnostics, suggesting it might be a cable issue. However, I had just been in a friend's room where the TV worked perfectly with plenty of channels available. As a result, we were moved to another room. We were originally told we could have the room across the hall, but then were informed there was a problem with the floor and were assigned a different room farther down the hall. After dinner that evening, we returned to our new room and later left to visit a store. When I checked the door after closing it, I discovered it was not locking properly. I was able to open it simply by turning the handle without using the key card. My husband tested it several times with the same result. I reported the issue to the front desk and was told to try lifting the door or handle while closing it. That did not work. A staff member came to the room and attempted several times, but nothing resolved the problem. Since we could not stay in a room that would not lock, we had to move again. The air conditioning unit in this room was extremely loud, making it difficult to sleep. We had to lower the setting to reduce the noise, which left the room warmer than we would have preferred. At that point, we did not want to move again. The next day, we encountered another problem. Although our room key worked, the door would not open easily. A member of the housekeeping staff helped us gain entry and commented that they did not understand why we had been assigned that room because the door was known to have issues. Later, after returning from an outing, we experienced the same problem. A worker installing an air conditioning unit in a nearby room saw us struggling and was eventually able to get the door open. That evening, the door would not open again, requiring assistance from the front desk. A different employee came up and, after several unsuccessful attempts, used an actual key to unlock it. They offered to move us to another room, but we declined since we were leaving the next day. The rooms themselves were acceptable—nothing fancy, but mostly clean. However, I was disappointed by the lack of storage. There were no hangers in the closet, and when I asked about them, I was told they had been removed because guests were getting cut. However, the metal rings the hangers had hung from were still in place and appeared just as likely to cause injury. After we moved to our final room, staff were able to locate a few hangers for us. I guess they felt bad about all the issues we had. Our rooms were located on the second floor. Accessing the stairwell required going outside the building. While a room key was needed to enter the second-floor hallway, no key was required to enter the stairwell itself. Additional issues included a non-functioning soda machine and a complimentary breakfast that left much to be desired. I do want to note that the staff members we interacted with were friendly and genuinely tried to help whenever issues arose. However, the number of room-related problems significantly impacted our stay. We are considering returning to Lexington for the BBQ Festival in October, but we will not be staying at this hotel. I now have doubts about staying in any Days Inn in the future.

It was terrifying to be at this location. It ended up the towns party central and not family friendly. I woke my kids after 5 hours of sleeping after a long day on the road and had to drive tired all the next day I woke the kids up scared and had to find a way out of there. Refund please and maybe tell other family's its not family friendly.
