HAMPTON INN LEXINGTON SOUTH-KE

We have stayed in Lexington and specifically in the Beaumont area many times. This was our first stay at the Hampton Inn. NEVER AGAIN. We checked into our room via the Hilton app 24 hours before our arrival. On the app and the hotel’s website it said that check-in began at 3:00PM - we listed 3:00 as our arrival time. We stopped at the front desk when we got to the hotel (3:25) and asked for physical keys. The EXTREMELY rude front desk person said that our room was not ready (the app said that it was). We were then told that the room we selected was given to another guest and that we would have to wait for another room. When we finally received keys to another room, it was not on the floor that we selected originally, it was very dirty, and very small. The room we were given was next to the hall ice maker so we were awake early in the morning listening to people fill their Keeneland coolers for the day. Our room had half a roll of toilet paper, no body wash and only a few towels. On our second day we arrived after dinner to see that housekeeping was still servicing rooms at 7:00. Our room was never cleaned during our stay. We are long time Hilton Diamond members and are appalled at the lack of customer care and the condition of this Hilton property.

The heating/cooling unit did not work. There were hairs on bed, toilet seat, and tub. There were dead bugs in floor. When all this was reported to staff at front desk they seemed unconcerned.

The hotel is tucked in an area with food and other hotels on a “loop” road a quick drive from the airport. Easy to get to and convenient and nice to have food actually within walking distance. The hotel shares the lot with another hotel and parking can fill up but still enough spaces to accommodate. Upon check in Malachi was pleasant and smiling. Always a great start to a stay. Malachi answered questions and provided assistance with a smile and is a great addition to staff in a challenging position at times. The rooms are not huge but adequate to work and sleep. The desk area has plenty of outlets. The bathroom is on the smaller side and it appears this hotel has been here for some time. Some upgrades clearly have been completed which makes the rooms feel fresh if not a bit dated. Dates is no problem it having what a room needs and cleanliness first! The bed and pillows were comfortable allowing for a good nights sleep. There is a mini fridge and microwave in the room as well as a single cup coffee maker. The breakfast in the morning has your standard fare of yogurt cereal fruit juice eggs and potatoes as well as waffles breads and muffins. Enough to get the day started for everyone. The hotel coffee in the lobby 24/7 is a plus. Shannon was at the front desk in the morning and she too pleasant and smiling. I would stay again at this hotel even if it is not the most updated because it’s clean convenient and had great staff! Hopefully management knows what a great job Malachi is doing to welcome guests making a stay great.
