The Crown Plaza New Orleans is in a convenient location, with a fancy restaurant and magnificent entrance. It's noisy, but you have to expect that because it's on Bourbon St. I would say the amenities inside are nice, even though the outside is seedy with drug dealers and beggars loitering by the front door.
Beyond the entrance whole place is falling apart. The rooms are filthy, the toilet had black streaks, we had major plumbing issues and had to switch rooms because the shower wasn't working. The view was ugly. There were no blankets, only thin sheets.
I tried to call the front desk for an hour, but no one picked up the phone. The front desk was clueless and low key rude. It was clear they didn't have any customer service training.
To top it all off, we were moved to a room that was almost twice as expensive without being told the price ahead of time.
I was told by other attendees at our convention that they had issues too.
I feel sorry for the people who are lured in by the initial grandness of the old hotel and low prices only to find themselves in a crumbling structure. It's not a good value for the money.
Don't stay here.
