Marriott at Lakeway

Only 2 Stars due to: 1) convenience to nearby I 10 2) efficient valet …….otherwise our experience in this Marriott was pretty poor. We only had an overnight stay in order to break our trip from Houston to Jekyll Island - in the respect it was perfect. The room was clean and it had an elevated view of Lake Pontchartrain. The downsides were: * No trolleys at all for luggage - both inward and outward * Incompetent receptionist - we had booked for M-Club but she failed to code our room keys for access * overall the hotel is pretty dilapidated - eg corridor carpets with long-rips taped together; battered furniture in room; needs a good makeover or revamp * M-Club coffee stone cold and tables dirty * Bar very unwelcoming and poor ambience Cannot possibly recommend this establishment

This place is amazing. Not too far from the French Quarter, but is quiet and out of the way so you dont have to be in the middle of things.

What in the world is happening Marriott??? The standard and quality of this hotel is horrible, pitiful, disgraceful when customers are paying to stay here. Stayed here this past weekend during a volleyball tournament without the option to book elsewhere and I so angry and disappointed that our club booked us here. Downstairs lobby presents and upscale hotel but as soon as your exit the elevator omg, you enter another world. A sad world. Old, outdated, low quality furnishings, stained carpet, refrigerator that sits on the floor, old dented boxsprings, worn pillows, hard towels, the list goes on. Never again!
