Twilite Motel

We are big fans of American 50’s stuff, such as diners. Never thought we’d find an original motel from the 50’s, updated where necessary. This is a quintessential Mom n Pop operation, but with aircon and high speed internet. Enjoyed every minute of a four-day stay. Owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Five-star experience!

For access to Acadia, this was a convenient location (directly on Route 1) - just outside of Ellsworth, which is great town for breakfast, lunch and dinner - including vegan/gluten free options. The motel offers only breakfast coffee, tea and some packaged food options. Good price for a clean (both living area and bathrooms), well-run hotel with helpful owners/operators on site. Deluxe double room had two firm mattresses, functional wifi and cable TV. Our room was set back from road, so we didn't any of the traffic noise from busy Route 1.

This is an old fashioned, no-frills motel. It’s not fancy, but is comfortable, clean and quiet. The owners are very friendly and we felt safe. The motel is close to downtown Ellsworth, on the main drag, but feels secluded and quiet. The rooms felt a little dated, but everything was clean and workable, and the rates are very affordable.
