Best Western Grand Venice Hotel

MY EXPERIENCE WAS AWFUL. I stayed here with my boyfriend & my 5 year old son. Checked in, got up to the room. My boyfriend peed, flushed & then toilet literally started to overflow with POOP! So we had to get a plunger from the front desk. There's nothing OK about having to plunge someone else's crap as SOON as you get into a room.. After that, he was trying to wash off his hands/arms but there were only 2 washrags.. NO TOWELS AT ALL. LUCKILY I had brought my OWN bath towel. Who pays for a room and doesn't even get a bath towel? There was no trash cans whatsoever in the room, or the bathroom. There was roaches crawling everywhere.. Sat my luggage down and watched them scatter across the desk. This isn't even the worst part! We got a room so that we could all bathe and get clean. I have a 5 YEAR OLD he is AUTISTIC! The bath water would not get HOT. It wouldn't even get WARM. I waited for hours to try again thinking MAYBE it needed to rewarm.. I waited until the morning and NOPE. We literally just didn't have hot water. It took running the shower for almost an hour before it even got LUKE WARM. We called to let them know our situation, but to NO SUPRISE NOBODY ANSWERED. So we left a message so that they were aware of the situation. Check out time was supposed to 11AM. We call the front desk at 9:30AM to ASK FOR A LATE CHECK OUT because we were up all night PLUNGING TOILETS AND TRYING TO GET A SHOWER WHICH DIDN'T HAPPEN, and to NO SUPRISE YET AGAIN there was no answer. We had to leave a MESSAGE. We called back again, they told us that there was nothing that could be done and that they knew about the plumbing issue and no matter what we had to check out at 11AM. So why were we not told about it? We were constantly plunging the toilet, fighting with the shower all night + morning. I got NO rest, we couldn't get CLEAN to ENJOY OUR STAY. I couldn't bathe my son. He doesn't like wearing clean clothes on his DIRTY body because it overstimulates him. Clearly - a shower isn't important to these people who run this place, & they don't understand the IMPORTANCE of it being one of the entire reasons for SOME people even renting a room.. WE LIVE IN OUR CAR! So to WASTE HARD EARNED MONEY to NOT EVEN GET A SHOWER is absolute BULLCRAP We rushed gathering everything to go down to check out. We get down there & waited for over 10 minutes for someone to come to the desk to check us out. We called multiple times. Finally they answered. "I DIDN'T SEE ANYONE OUT THERE." AFTER WE WERE TOLD WE HAD TO CHECK OUT BY 11AM, we got up OUT OF BED and got our things together, loaded the cart and headed down and while we are on the way down the front desk decides to call us and says that we can check out at 12PM. By then we already had our stuff packed and ready to go. We were out of the room already. We get downstairs with all of our things and he says "I called to let you know that you could stay until 12PM." Well it didn't matter because by that point I already had to wake my son up that I had a hard time getting to sleep ANYWAYS since he couldn't BATHE. Nobody approached us at the desk until almost 11:30AM. THEN he stated he will have to take our problems up to the supervisor. We paid our deposit with cash so he went to verify + make sure what we stated was true to which HE DID. He agreed, gave our deposit back, & said he would speak to the supervisor + someone would reach out to us about it later that night. NOTE: WE GOT CHECKED OUT AT AROUND 11:40AM-11:50AM NOT DUE TO US CHECKING OUT LATE BUT DUE TO WAITING FOR SOMEONE AT THE DESK AND THEN WAIT FOR THEM TO VERIFY AND CHECK THAT OUR ALLEGATIONS WERE TRUE. Nobody reached out to us about our stay or our situation. Flash forward to tonight, we stopped in for an update, & they said that their accommodation WAS us checking out late at 12PM. WE DIDN'T GET CHECKED OUT UNTIL 12PM BECAUSE OF THEM NOT BEING UP FRONT.. THAT'S NO ACCOMODATION. I expected a refund or at the VERY least a free nights stay with an actual HOT SHOWER. 😡

Stayed at the Hagerstown APM Inn and was not impressed. The absence of any lobby staff should have been red flag enough. Arrived at my room a tired traveler to find the fridge was not plugged in, carpet badly torn, unusually thick pillows caused pain and discomfort, and the bathtub appeared black and moldy. Suppose it's what you get for the price, but they even misbilled me (which was a process to rectify). Best thing was the coffee shop next door, both charming and delicious.

Been staying here since middle of November staff if very friendly rooms are nice they are making a lot of improvements to the hotel new lobby floor new security camera they have security for overnight vert quiet amd clean if you have any issues they are quick to help resolve the problem lizz the manager has been very professional kind and helpful as well as all the other staff members most of the reviews I’ve read has been incorrect about the hotel never had any issues with the staff or the manager lizz they are very friendly and very helpful
