We stayed in room 709 for 6 nights from 9/8 leaving 9/14. Here are the overcharges showing the contracted nightly rate followed by the billed rate: 9/9 $315 to $330, 9/10 $315 to $340, 9/11 $350 to $375, 9/12 $ 350 to $375 and Sunday 9/13 a whopping $300 to $375. A $75 overcharge on Sunday, wow, hard to fathom, the parking lot was just about half full. Not a night that would demand a premium rate. I had made a paper copy of the original contract and asked for a paper copy of the receipt. The numbers were significantly different. The woman CSR tried to convince me that I did not understand that the deposit was a separate line item. She then got a young man who tried to tell me that my paper copy was some kind of screen capture and not valid. He next tried to tell me the discrepancy was due to the deposit not including the requisite taxes. At this point I went to my car to get my glasses so that I could pull up the original email contract on my phone. This must have motivated him because when I returned, he had found the hotel’s copy and agreed that I was overcharged more than $180. My fellow travelers, please make a paper copy of your confirming email and take it with you. The front desk will want to email you a copy of the receipt. Please ask for a paper copy of the receipt in addition. This will make it easiest to compare the two documents for any discrepancies before leaving the property. Wishing you success. Port-O-Call positions itself as the upscale property in Ocean City. Wrestling with the front desk over obvious room overcharges creates a bad experience and a jaundiced view of the operation.

Location is great, linens and bed very nice, however the carpet was nasty. It was stained and appeared very dirty. For the cost of this hotel the room was average and needed attention. I will never stay at the Port O Call again. In its day it was a nice hotel. With the rates they charge they can afford to keep the rooms in better shape.

We had a very nice stay at the hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, which made our stay especially enjoyable. The hotel has a relaxing atmosphere and is a great place to unwind by the beach. Overall, it’s a wonderful choice for anyone looking for comfort and space during their stay.
