HAMPTON INN BOSTON-PEABODY MA

The hotel is convenient to my brother's house in Peabody but no really anything else. They are currently undergoing renovations to the pool and fitness center, so neither are open. The elevators are old and creaky and the rooms themselves need a refresh. The bathtub are so slippery! Be very careful. Any coating that may have been on them to help with the slippage has long worn off. They should really provide mats for the tubs at this point. Other than that, it is an average Hampton Inn.

I have stayed at Hampton inns over the years because they are reliably comfortable and clean. Returning from a long flight overseas, we stayed at the hotel in Peabody before flying home the next day. To say this hotel is shabby is an understatement. While the cleanliness level was acceptable, the room was do run down and didn’t look as if it had been updated since the 80s. One outlet in the room and one on a desk lamp far from the beds made it impossible charge phones close to the beds. The smoke detector was literally hanging off the wall. Furniture is chipped and two legs of the bathroom vanity were literally propped up on blocks. For over $200 a night, this is unacceptable.

The hotel was clean and relatively quiet. Close to Salem where we were spending the day. I found the breakfast of a lower quality than other hotels I have stayed at and the selection of items was smaller. Price was comparable to other hotels in the area.
