We stayed at the Black Swan when we took a trip to Tanglewood for a concert. The room was clean and roomy and the shower was great - not always the case in an older motel. The staff was welcoming and courteous. While the motel is somewhat dated, it is clean and comfortable, on a beautiful lake and it is priced appropriately. We had a great time and will return in the future when we attend an event at Tanglewood (or any other event in the area).

A nice surprise in so many ways! Great views of the lake, clean and comfortable room, and outstanding staff! We stayed 4 nights. We rented kayaks and ate in the excellent India restaurant. Great value and location for visiting Tanglewood and Jacobs Pillow.
Michelle, at the front desk, is a standout. She went the extra "mile" on at least 3 occasions: Advising us on local sites, getting us into and out of our kayaks and mailing back an item I had left in my room. Great customer service. We had a lovely week!

Two of the staff members were incredibly rude. I was literally reprimanded over a pontoon boat rental in which I had booked 2 hrs because we our party exceeded the limit of passengers,
I let them know WELL AHEAD of time that I would split our party up in two one hour boat rides. When the time came to unload and load our next group I was yelled at for not cooperating with the rules, which until that moment (time was clicking away during this verbal exchange) that they don’t usually allow for a changeover in passengers. Despite this waste of time, we were called on a radio that we had minutes to return the rental, so we hurried back to fine no one at the dock to help up anchor, so we did it ourselves. They also charge $30 and hour for an old beat up kayak and they say they have cameras so no one can cheat. We paid over $5,000 for 5 rooms for the weekend, July weekend in the Berkshires, and were still treated with disrespect. There was an employee mowing the lake front lawn at 10am on a Sunday when guest were enjoying their last few minutes by a “peaceful” lake.
The building needs upkeep for those prices: paint on deck peeling, gardens overgrown, breakfast is Sysco, shower tub was clogged, no handle in shower for my 85 year old mom to get out of the shower herself.
