Homewood Suites Grand Rapids

Probably one of the worst hotel experiences that I have ever had. Called hotel to check in early and they said that it would not be a problem. When I arrived at 11:00 AM, they said that they had no clean rooms available. Once we got checked into the hotel room at 5:00 PM we found used plastic cutlery on the floor. There were no towels in our bathroom when I hopped in the shower, so my wife went downstairs and was told that they had no clean bath towels available. She was then told by the staff “what do you want me to do” and was presented with pool towels that felt like sandpaper for our use. No conditioner in the bathroom. The entire hotel smelled like weed. Our room smelled like cigarettes, and the top sheet to our bed did not fit so we woke up multiple times in the middle of the night touching the mattress. Do not stay here under any circumstances unless you’re a glutton for punishment.

Stayed here for one night. There was hair in the toilet. The floor had food on it and clearly had not been vacuumed. I stopped at the front desk, but the front desk manager was too busy talking to another employee to even the acknowledge me being there. When I messaged the front desk in the Marriott app, it took them more than six hours to respond and the response was “I’m so sorry”. Then they did automatic end the conversation.

Do not stay here. This place is hot garbage. What ever happened to PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP? This hotel has zero. They are doing less than the minimum and it shows. Gross, unstaffed, sloppy, unmaintained, smelly, and no value.
