There is a lot to like about the Hamilton Inn - the beachfront location was amazing, the staff were wonderful, the rooms while dated were clean, the water pressure in the shower was good, the pool was warm and open late. My only complaint was about the food - the breakfast buffet was hot and plentiful but I was disappointed to find canned fruit and powdered eggs, not to mention plastic plates and cutlery! Our catered dinner was not much better - cafeteria quality food and again plastic plates and cutlery. Mackinaw City has plenty of restaurants with decent food, I was surprised at how bad it was at the hotel.

Hotel is located right on the beach. The people at reception were very welcoming and helpful. The room, while large, was definitely in need of TLC. Rather shabby and it needed a good cleaning. Breakfast was the typical sugared yogurt, powered eggs, etc. There were some pancakes. Overall the location and helpful staff made it a decent place to sty.

My brother in law checked out the Hamilton what kind of rooms were available and where they were located. When we checked in and went to our room I was thrilled to see we had a lake front room. He did a great job .The breakfast was very good and offered many options to eat. I met our housekeeper Nadia . She was a nice friendly person and kept our room very clean. I was glad I got to talk with her before we checked out. I was very pleased with our three day stay.
