Parkside Inn Bridgeview

Very basic accommodations, more like a motel than a hotel. The room was old, dated, and had a strong moldy smell. We had booked a two-night stay, but the odor was so unpleasant that we couldn't stay the second night and ended up checking out early. The hotel is located very close to the bridge, so there was constant traffic noise from passing cars, making it difficult to relax and sleep. The room didn't even provide shower gel, which was disappointing. Our experience with the owner was also not pleasant. Overall, we were very disappointed and would not stay here again or recommend it.

This isn't actually a review of the hotel itself, but rather the employees. I didn't stay at the hotel, but I did have a shockingly awful experience with the staff that I feel people should know about. A longer story, but worth the read if your considering staying here. I had been in the park across the street earlier when the cannon from the fort went off, really frightened my elderly dog and he ran from the park. When I needed to return to the park, I could not get him across the street because he was so afraid. He was lying on the ground and shaking, clearly in distress. He's 80 lbs, I was by myself and cannot lift him. A male employee from the hotel came out, was incredibly mean, yelled at me, and told me to leave. I explained the situation and how I was trying, but he just repeated that I had to get of there and left. A few minutes later a woman came out, yelled at me again, swore at me, threatened repeatedly to call the cops, and oddly demanded to know where I was staying then got angrier when I would not tell her. I fully admit to being on their property, but I was clearly having difficulty, my dog was clearly very upset, and instead of being met with any sort of patience or understanding, I was meant with cruelty and threat of arrest. The whole experience was very surprising and very upsetting, and I would definitely not want to stay at a hotel whose employees were comfortable with such hard-hearted and vulgar behavior.

Do not stay here. The rooms smell awful. The carpet and wallpaper must be from the early 1990s. The shower only had an outdated shower curtain and no liner. It is a good location. However, we left with everything smelling like the room.
