I depend on reviews when booking hotel rooms in places I’ve never been before. After visiting this property, I found the positive reviews online to be very inaccurate. We are not fussy people and enjoy camping and can handle bugs and more “rugged” accommodations. I even expect these things when staying so close to water. I’m willing to overlook a lot for a beautiful view and avoiding crowds. This hotel was really disappointing though. We stayed in room #2 and it was a very unpleasant stay. The mold smell was apparent immediately upon entering so we turned on the room AC and that actually made it worse. I peeked into the vent on the machine and the amount of visible dust was disgusting. The curtain was torn and moldy. There were mystery stains on the chairs. There was condensation on the window and I’m betting the ceiling tiles collect moisture as well. We left our ground level door open as much as possible and tried to be out of the room as much as possible during the day. The bathroom exhaust fan was also covered in dust/lint like it hadn’t been cleaned in 20 years. The shower room is tiny with no hooks to hang towels. The toilet seat was nasty with stains and chips. The water pressure in the shower was crazy high (think blasted with a firehose) and the temp could not be adjusted easily, it was so hot and strong we just skipped showering the day we left. The sink faucet handles didn’t work properly, the hot turned the correct direction, the cold handle was backwards. There was no way we were using the in room coffee machine. The power went out at 2:30 a.m. for about 15 minutes the first night we were there and again the next day in the evening. There was no communication from the office about this. There did not appear to be a backup generator on the property. The amount of noise coming from the room above us the second night was crazy. There was no phone in the room to try and call the front desk and I felt unsafe speaking to other guests to ask them to quiet down at 10:30 - 11:30 p.m. on a Tuesday night. I was traveling with a 12 year old and that is the only reason I didn’t just go sleep in my car. I laid in bed awake for multiple hours each of the two nights we were there due to the noise and lack of power. We didn’t bother contacting the office as it was pretty apparent it wouldn’t have done any good. Being able to see the sunrise on the beach was cool but you will have to navigate a lot of goose poop and discarded clothing and trash. This property is in such a beautiful location, it’s a shame it’s not cared for properly (or at all). We would not stay here again. Definitely ask to inspect the room before committing to stay.

I would have rated zero if Trip Advisor allowed it. Rooms were musty and smelled terrible. I left one room and was "upgraded". The new room smelled less offensive than the first, hiwever there was clear evidence of water leakage in the bathroom, ceiling tiles had heavy water stains and obviously a mould issue.

It was out of season for pool and hot tub. Didn’t see the complimentary breakfast. Lots of spider / cobwebs in the room. Location is nice. Bathroom was great with walk in shower.
