For the most part this was a good stay, while the common areas seem a bit dated, the place is well maintained it that it's clean and we did get a good nights sleep. Also no issues with noise. My only issue is our door did not close automatically. It swung that way but generally did not click shut, something you'll want to watch.

We were traveling through and needed a hotel for one night in Traverse City. Even though it's the end of the high season, the hotel rates in the area were through the roof and mostly unaffordable. We also didn't have a reservation, as our trip was last minute. The Best Western was able to accommodate us and even provided a first floor room with a walk in shower, on the quieter back side of the hotel. The rate was also affordable. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom was small but adequate. The walk in shower was nice to have, but noted that it was European style with only 1/2 glassed in by the shower head end only. Not a problem for us, but might be for others. The sink area was outside the bathroom and very small. Our only glitch was that the TV kept buffering off and freezing with a "signal lost" notification. It would eventually return, but that was frustrating while watching the world series. Breakfast was meager even by hotel standards. We should have chosen to eat at one of the many breakfast places in town and I would highly recommend that. The staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous.

We booked three nights in the king suite. The rooms were very large with lots of space. Unfortunately the wi-fi in the area of our room was totally non-functional. After checking in and bringing in our luggage, I tried with the help of the hotel staff for over a half hour to get any of our devices successfully connected to their network. Since being able to use our devices is important for us during a three-day visit, we gave up, found another hotel, and left with no cost penalty. The staff was very apologetic and understanding. They said they have been trying to get the WiFi upgraded for quite a few months, but it still hadn’t been done. Maybe someday it will be and we’ll try again.
