I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Cleveland, MS over Easter weekend while visiting family, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment I arrived on Friday, the hotel left a poor impression. The hallways were hot, stuffy, and had an unpleasant smell. When I entered my room, the countertops were sticky, as if they had been wiped with dirty or reused towels, and it seemed like everything was cleaned with the same cloth. The toilet had noticeable hard water stains, and when I mentioned this to the front desk, I was told that “they’re all the same way,” which was incredibly unhelpful. Imagine trying to feel comfortable with a newborn in these conditions it was far from the relaxing stay I expected. The next morning, I went to breakfast around 7:50 AM, only to find scraps of food left with nothing fresh or refilled and no staff in sight. To make matters worse, someone stole the dashboard monitor from my dash camera (which was being used as a baby monitor) from my car while it was parked in front of the hotel. The actual camera and cords were left in the car, making the situation even more perplexing. When I reported the theft to the front desk, the initial staff member dismissed my concern, saying there were no cameras covering my parking spot. Eventually, another staff member, A’Breya, took my information and said she would call the manager. The back-and-forth over the next few hours was frustrating, and I received no empathy or reassurance from staff. I was told the police would need to come to the hotel to access security footage, and only later clarified that the police could handle it without me present but by that point, I had already lost all patience with the process. Overall, the stay was uncomfortable, stressful, and lacked the quality of service I’ve come to expect from Hilton properties. Between the unclean room, subpar breakfast, and extremely poor handling of the theft incident, I left feeling frustrated and unsupported. As a longtime Hilton member and someone who has traveled extensively, this was a very disappointing experience. I will not be returning to this Hampton Inn.

I stayed here in March 2025. This is the worst Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in. Everything is tired and in disrepair. The toilet seat in my guestroom was not connected to the toilet. Everything was dated and tired. The closet door had been removed and never returned. The TV would not turn on. Someone had tried to force entry into the room and the damage that had been done was not not fully repaired. The hallways were hot, humid and smelled stale. The elevator cabins were tired and worn out - especially the floors which looked terrible. Also, the elevators were clunky. Only two machines in the gym worked. All four treadmills were out-of-order. Also, while the Peloton technically worked, the hotel had slyly put the pedals on it that only work with bike shoes. But I had bike shoes so I went to my car and got them only to discover that Peloton bike shoes are different from standard bike shoes making the one Peloton usable with only a tiny percentage of hotel customer.

The staff was exceptional. The issues were with the room. There was mildew in the bathroom/shower. I went to Dollar General and purchased Tilex mold and mildew remover and used it every night and day. When I arrived my key card didn’t work. After several failed attempts, I notified the staff. A young lady brought a device to my room, connected it to the electronic door handle and still couldn’t get the door open. She told me that she would have to get someone out to change the lock. I left the hotel for a few hours. As I was walking into the lobby my son (he was staying across the hall from me) called and said the young lady was looking for me. As I was getting on the elevator she was getting off but came back up with me to my room to ensure the key cards worked and they did. The tv didn’t work. A young lady came to my room to set the tv up. There were two remote controls which in my opinion is two too many for a hotel. There should only be one remote control and the tv should have already been programmed. Additionally, they ran out of clean towels and only had gym towel and tub mat towels. Other than that the staff was very nice, professional and very accommodating.
