I called before booking about late arrivals being that they had a policy on the website about late arrivals. I asked about booking a room and arrived late, if I would I still have a room to come to being that I was coming after work and from out of state. Once I understood the policy. I decided to book the room for some days. Prior to my late arrival I was notified by email that my room was modified to a smoking room. At check-in I stated I booked a nonsmoking room, my room had been modified, and I would need a nonsmoking room. She stated she had none at the moment and the only way to get a nonsmoking room was to upgrade my room at an additional cost. I declined the additional charge upgrade. She told me I could stay in the room for that night and to check back at 7 in the morning to do a room transfer. I checked back the next morning and was told that if they had a room cleaned before 11, they would let me know. I never received a call, or a room transfer for my entire stay which was for about 6 days. The room, halls and elevator smelled of various smoke scents. The ceiling had visible water damage, the chair in the room had a visible stain in the seat. A dead roach in the bathroom on the floor between the wall and the sink fixture and one of the outlets in the room next to the bed was visibly coming out of the wall causing anything to be plugged into to be loose and fall out. I would have like to have had a non-smoking room as stated As I am not a smoker nor deal with people who do smoke. That is the main issue for me. Check in and check out process was easy but again having to have a smoking room when I know I booked a nonsmoking room was the main issue for me. I do not utilize daily housekeeping services during any hotel stays so I cannot speak on that. No workers were rude or unprofessional at anytime with me. I forgot to mention that my key card "expired" the day of my check-out date. I left out of my room early that morning and when I returned back about 7am my key card didn't work. I had to go back to the front to get it reactivated. im not sure of the sound ordinance for the city of Ridgeland but someone was blasting music from their room around 8pm on a tuesday night. Would I give the hotel a second chance? it is likely but I wouldnt consider it to be my go to option

When we arrived to our room there was glitter and white sticky residue on the sheets. We asked for another room but the front desk guy said no rooms were available. When we asked for hotels in the area they were all booked. We asked the guy to come change the sheets, and he said he didn’t have anyone. The front desk person came and took the sheet off the bed. Threw it onto the other bed and brought a comforter handed it to us and patted on the mattress pad stating you can sleep here this is fine. We asked for another comforter at least and different pillow cases. The front desk guy went and got another employee and brought him to our room and tried to explain the situation in another language. The two men proceeded to yell at each other for 6-7min in our room. A very awkward situation. When they got the bed made finally we asked for different towels as they were also covered in someone else’s hair, we asked for an exchange but had to go 2 other times to the desk to remind them. I later stepped into the lobby to call for food to come to the room and was told to stand elsewhere because the door was opening and closing! To make this worse the fire alarms went off around 1242am and when we went out to the front to ask what happened he said it’s fine you can sleep now. What a joke.
