Best Western Ripley

Was late in the day when we decided to stop for the night. We found this place it looked ok. Got a king sized room. The bed was comfortable, there was a big flat screen TV. No carpet in the room. In the south we have had several rooms without carpet. The room was clean and bright. I enjoyed the lounge chair.

Reserved this room to attend a family funeral. We drove down from St.Louis. Checked in at 10 pm. Went to room which was surrounded by guys outside smoking and watching us walk in. The room had a moldy odor that was making my asthma flare up. The AC didn’t work. The floors and the linens were dirty. Went back to the front desk and was offered another room. We went to it, it was just as bad as the first one with what appeared to be ketchup on the curtains and a yellow stain on one of the pillows. I pulled the covers back to check the sheets and they were stained also. I went near the TV to call the front desk to have the lady look at the room and a cockroach came out from under the remote control. I was disgusted. My daughter saw several of them coming from under the fridge and took photos. When I went back to the from desk to ask for a refund because we hadn’t even carried our things in from the car, she said that cancellations had to be done before 4 pm. I told her that I would’ve canceled then had I know the room had roaches. She said that she had to call the manager. After 30 minutes she finally got ahold of him and he said that as long as we hadn’t used anything in the room that we could get a refund. The woman went to the room while we waited in the lobby. She came back 10 minutes later and stated she would only partially refund us because I had pulled the blankets back on the bed. While she was gone I had already made reservations at the Holiday Inn in New Albany. I was upset about the entire ordeal and just said fine, so that we could hurry up and leave. New Albany was 30 minutes away from the funeral home in Ripley, but it was worth the drive to sleep comfortably and not have bugs. Don’t stay at this hotel unless you want to take uninvited guests home.

just old and low class, was horrified to see the floor which is fake tile , no place to wipe shoes off, covers on bed must have been purchased at garage sale, pillows are just awful. Toilet falling off floor. Dont let photos fool you! Go down to Ripley to the historic inn it has three bedrooms for rent 85.00 a night and lovely! I hated the Econo lodge it ruined my stay in town, gross!
