AMERICAS BEST VALUE INN

Actually misread the town when I booked but wasn't too bad. quiet and off the beaten path, didn't seem too busy. Room was clean, really just a room for the night.

In May of 2026 I tried to book a room in the Red Roof in Cameron, MO. I was then informed what the cost of the room was - acceptable - AND that I had to leave a $100 security deposit with the room fee. I've never had to leave a security deposit for a low-priced motel in my life (I'm 72). I asked why it was required and the girl told me "to cover incidentals." Red Roof doesn't have a stocked frig or any other items that would be normally classified as "incidentals." I refused, as this seems like a method to up the cost of the room if it's not spotless and ready to rent again when I leave. Furthermore, I don't want to support this being the way that cheap motels move into the future. You decide if this is appropriate. I made my choice.

Good Motel for the price. Overall, clean, floors mopped and appeared clean. Hotel is on the older side but it appears management is doing some updating. Okay breakfast and offers a variety of breakfast items. A few dust bunnies and dirt in the corners of the bathroom.
