AMERICAS BEST VALUE INN

I do a lot of traveling through this area and usually get a room in St Louis or columbia but recently I was too tired to go any further. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly and welcoming staff. The room was nice and since I was referred, the price was fair. I'll be staying here again!!!

Overall Rating: 4/5Pros: Great location, very clean rooms, and overall a beautiful property. Cons: Major room security oversight and inconsistent breakfast service. I am giving this hotel a strong rating because the property itself is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which is always my top priority. With a few operational improvements, this place could easily be a 5-star gem. Our room was spotless, but we experienced a major security concern on Saturday. We left at 10:00 AM and returned at 6:00 PM to find our hotel room door completely unlatched and open by a few inches. When I brought this to the front desk, the receptionist claimed housekeeping had not been in our room and that she noticed the open door earlier but assumed a guest left it that way. However, someone had clearly serviced our room because the beds were made and fresh towels were left. Fortunately, nothing was missing—including my laptop—but leaving a guest's room unsecured for hours is a serious safety issue that needs to be addressed. The breakfast service also needs better attention to detail. On Saturday, the hash browns were undercooked, the pancakes were rubbery, and the eggs contained peppers (which I am allergic to, so I could not eat them). There was no milk because the batch had gone bad, and no decaf coffee available outside of the single K-cup in our room. Sunday's breakfast was a noticeable improvement with well-cooked seasoned potatoes and cheese omelets, though the pre-made waffles were quite rubbery. Installing a standard waffle maker for guests to use on the spot would be a massive upgrade. Additionally, they were still out of milk again on Sunday, and staff had to go to a local store to buy some. We also experienced a dog barking for an extended period, though the front desk was already aware of the issue and it was finally resolved around 9:30 PM. The staff members themselves were pleasant, and because the hotel is so clean and nice, I would still recommend staying here. I just hope management focuses a bit more on security and breakfast consistency moving forward.

Wonderful hotel stay. Staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were updated and very clean. Nice quiet location. Highly recommend!
