Recently stayed for 3 nights with a family of 5 at this property, over the holiday weekend (4th of July). The property itself is beautiful, set within the surrounding White Mountains including My Washington in the distance, a grand old hotel in the vein of Congress Hall in Cape May, NJ or The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO. We arrived and parked out front and had our bags offloaded and put onto a luggage cart by the bell hops who have a station on the front porch, it's a nice touch that's reminiscent of when these properties were truly full service, and most hotels today fall short in these little details. The front lobby and main area of the hotel are amazing, exactly what you would imagine a historic property to look and feel like inside. Check in was smooth and we went to out room on the 4th floor which was average, it had been remodeled partially, but it's an older hotel and there are limitations. We enjoy staying at older properties on occasion and are fine with a so-so room, but the room itself didn't feel 5 star, the bathroom had a stained drop ceiling that looked like it was in someone's basement. The magic of this hotel is the property and spaces themselves, and we didn't plan to spend much time in the room so it wasn't a deterrence. The pool, the veranda, the front porch and the rooftop bar are all lovely outdoor spaces. The veranda was filled all afternoon with families and couples enjoying cocktails, card games, board games and the like, and really was relaxing with the backdrop of the mountains in the distance. Service in general was an issue and was not consistent depending on the location or server/bartender. The food everywhere (we had breakfast/lunch/dinner over our stay) was actually quite good, but the execution wasn't always there. We kept hearing that everyone was new, or training, which seems odd in the month of July during the busy summer season. Special shout out to the restaurant manager Jess, she's really a star and a huge asset to the Omni brand! We had a small service issue during our dinner one evening and she stepped in and made it right, but on top of that, during our conversation I mentioned that the US Men's game was on TV Monday evening but the hotel really only has a couple TVs in the downstairs bar and not many options to watch it (most restaurants in surrounding area were closed on Mondays). Jess simply said, let me see what I can do. The next day we were out having an early dinner and she called us on our cell phone to let us know she had the AV staff set up their outdoor projector and screen on the rooftop terrace/bar and would be streaming the game for all guests! We went up with our kids and about 40 fans cheered on the unfortunate effort of the men's team over drinks. This level of service and creativity is impossibly rare, I hope Omni hangs on to her and elevates her in the future to a role where her expertise is able to make an even greater impact. Overall we loved the property, had a very relaxing vacation and would return here, hoping that the service moderately improves in the future.

My stay at The Mount Washington Hotel was enjoyable. I felt warmly welcomed and at home. The staff were hospitable and kind, especially the ones working in Stickney’s. Our server Claudio was at the ready and responsible. He is great at his job and has a lovely demeanor in regards to handling the clientele. He is hard-working and not overly pushy. He was attentive and delightful. Eating here is part of the hotel’s unique charm and why I enjoy coming back again.

This is a beautiful property set at the base of Mount Washington. It is a restored 1902 building that is very well kept and maintains a beautiful, nostalgic peek into the early days of the "Grand Hotel" error. It is appointed with period furnishings and art work that bring you into that time period.
I want to first emphasize that the staff is excellent in their willingness to help out in any way possible! All are very courteous and professional. The greatest challenge for this hotel is that they are short staffed. Rooms were not cleaned in a timely manor though when brought to the attention of housekeeping they were done quickly and efficiently. The stairwells were in need of vacuuming and the pool area needed regular clean-up from guests who left drink glasses and food plates under their chase lounges. Again, a function of staff. On one afternoon the pool was very crowded with families and yet there was only one person attending to taking drink and food orders. Since this property is located in an area that is not densely populated, the available resources to work are difficult to find however at the rates charged the hotel needs to find how to overcome the staffing issues.
My overall takeaway is that it is a worthwhile stay based on the shear beauty of its location. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone who asks.
