Whitney's Inn at Jackson

At check in we went to desk. A worker was signing in to what looked like a log book. Didn’t even acknowledge us. Another worker came in and asked if we were being helped. We were not so she went into office and someone then came out to help us. They asked us if we were part of the wedding party and we were not. They seemed surprised in our answer. We were just on a short vacation celebrating our own anniversary. Staff asked if we had ever been at an inn with a rowdy wedding reception, almost making a joke of us not being part of the wedding party. We went upstairs to our room and got cozy for the night. Tv wasn’t working so we called for assistance. They were able to get it working for a bit with the office remote. After they left, tv didn’t stay connected for more than a few minutes. In the bathroom, it was very small but functional. The toilet was not fastened to floor very well and rocked from side to side. Fortunately you were backed into a tight spot with a wall on each side. The staff didn’t seem very friendly, never spoke to us unless we spoke to them. Our room was apparently over the kitchen and had staff going in and out until after midnight to the back parking lot. Every time the door shut it shook our room. We could also hear their conversations in the back parking lot. Wall between units seemed very thin and could also hear conversations neighbors were having. On the morning of end of our stay, the cleaners were in units across hall and adjoining wall to our unit vacuuming and cleaning shortly after 8am. Seemed a bit early to us. Was not a relaxing stay, would not recommend and will not ever return!

This is the quintessential New Hampshire experience!!! The king room was so comfortable and clean, the service so friendly. There was an adorable sitting area stocked with games, a pool and 2 modern hot tubs under a perfect starry night! A fire pit with snores and peace and quiet. The attached restaurant, the shovel handle pub was adorable!!! The foood was excellent, I had salmon and my husband had steak tips, the homemade ice cream sandwich for dessert and a good selection of beer on tap with a very reasonable price tag and excellent fast service. With ski slopes just feet away I am guessing it is a great winter destination, but I was thrilled with my late summer experience. Highly recommend this place!

Being generation X, I really loved this inn. All the look and feel of an 80s-90s inn built for ski season. The rooms and entire hotel are clean and cozy. Almost all the rooms have just one bed and one bathroom so we really appreciated the lack of small screaming children during our stay. There is a pool, 2 hot tubs and a sauna available and they're fantastic after a day of hiking in Crawford Notch. They have a grab and go breakfast included which is water, orange juice, coffee, muffins or granola bars plus fresh whole fruits(apples in this case) which was pretty handy and appreciated. I have to mention the staff because everyone who works at Whitneys Inn is pleasant and genuine. There is a pub attached to the inn that is pretty active every night and adds to the enjoyment of couples looking to get away. 5 stars all the way in my book!
