We found out when we arrived that the building was closed. Vacation was ruined. Very disappointing. No warning or communication of any issues.

I am write this with a profound sense of sadness, anger, and utter embarrassment. My husband’s family has owned a timeshare here for nearly 35 years, and I have personally been coming for the last 15. This property used to be a place of pride and cherished family memories; today, it is an absolute disgrace. The current owners should be utterly ashamed of how they have allowed this historic, architecturally beautiful building to be run into the ground.
The level of filth and physical decay is repulsive:
* **Severe Structural Neglect:** Nothing has been updated in years—not even a simple coat of paint. The walls feature peeling, cracking, and chipping paint, accompanied by horrific water stains. The drop ceiling panels are literally sagging and dropping from above. The elevator rarely works, and when it does, it feels completely unsafe.
* **Appalling Uncleanliness:** The baseboards are coated in a thick, compressed layer of ancient dust, and the light fixtures are covered in grime. The outside of the refrigerator was smeared with fingerprints, and the dish soap was watered down to stretch it out. The most horrifying moment came in the bathroom: I thought the water knobs were rusted beyond repair yet it turns out years of soap scum and dirt scrubbed right off to reveal shiny metal underneath. Housekeeping couldn't even be bothered to wipe down basic fixtures.
* **Dilapidated Furnishings:** The mattresses, couch, and sofa bed are worn, stained, and completely exhausted. The appliances are ancient, with a coin-flip chance of actually working. We were given two towels for a week-long stay for 4 people with housekeeping demanding an upcharge for basic cleaning service.
* **Hazardous Pool & Grounds:** The pool area is falling apart with rusted doors and chipping pool paint. The water is dirty filthy and the chemical balance is so wildly off that the chlorine fumes burn your eyes just sitting nearby. You now have to "check out" pool towels because management can't maintain basic security.
To make matters worse, the overall atmosphere has degraded. What used to be a family-friendly haven has turned into a free-for-all with loud, disruptive guests who show zero consideration or respect for anyone else staying here.
The tragedy in all of this is that the building itself has incredible historic architecture, the beach location is fantastic, and the front desk staff have also lost all hope, and now they to are as awful as the building itself.
It is heartbreaking and humiliating to watch a place our family loved for decades rot from the inside out due to sheer greed and neglect. Legacy Vacations-SHAME ON YOU.

Legacy Vacation Resort (LVR) in Brigantine was closed due to the fact both elevators were out of service. Owners were sent an impersonal email telling them not to plan on being able to utilize their paid for week with no explanation of what compensation was being offered. Was set to arrive 8/21, informed closed with no alternative offered on 8/14.
