BAYMONT INN AND SUITES ATLANTIC CITY WEST

Room was nice great air conditioning!! Wish there was a late night pool time! The best nicest and most caring owners,staff,and lobby workers I've ever had the pleasure to encounter!! Highly Recomend and absolutely will be back!!

We arrived at Howard Johnson somewhere between 20:00 and 21:00 on December 31, 2018. We checked in and immediately found the room unacceptable. The first thing that hit us was a pervasive stale smell. There were large stains/spots on the sofa bed couch. There was also water-ruined furniture in the hallways and at the doors. There was mold on the windows. We immediately brought this to the attention of the person at the desk who allowed us to look at another room. This one was worse, because the heating unit did not work, and the spots on the couch were even worse than in our original room. We could not address this right away, because we had to get something to eat before going to the concert which was the reason for our visit to Atlantic City. When we got back to the room after the concert, we tried to make the best of it. We did not want to take the chance of driving impaired due to the late hour. Our plan was to drive the three hours to Atlantic City, enjoy the concert, sleep overnight and drive home refreshed in the morning. We got in around 0130 (January 1, 2019), got in the bed and were horrified by what we found. The sheets felt dirty. There were lint balls that turned the sheets into sandpaper. There was no way to rest, because the slightest move produced abrasive pain. We tried to go to sleep anyway. After maybe an hour or so, we finally gave up. We grabbed our belongings and left in our pajamas to drive home. We got home somewhere between 0430 and 0500. I took pictures. They can be seen here.

This hotel is not on the boardwalk or even off the strip of Atlantic City..it's a short ride away on a NJ Transit bus or drive if you have a car. This hotel features a complimentary breakfast, is clean and even has a Walmart that is just about a block away..you can even see the Walmart if you get a room that faces it. As Walmart might not be the highlight of your Atlantic City Get-a-way, it comes in handy for an inexpensive meal or any shopping you might want to do. The hotel has a friendly staff, sometimes the A/C units don't work right, so it's always good to check right away in case you need to ask for a room change. This happened to me unfortunately. However, the staff was very good about moving me to another room that had a working A/C unit. The prices are also lower then the motels that are on Pacific Avenue which is close to the casinos. The only downside to this hotel, is the fact that the casino is not down the street or even 3 blocks away. You do need to either drive or take the NJ Transit bus. The NJ Transit bus only runs every 30 minutes on Sat and every hour on Sun at certain hours. So make sure to get a schedule so you can plan your travels ahead of time. There is always Uber or Lyft that you can that is available 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.
