Comfort Inn Central Park West

It is the worst hotel in NYC for what they charge... the room in my apartment is larger than the room they gave me, the bed was pushed against the wall because it fit, the air conditioning is very old and makes a terrible noise that prevents you from sleeping, there are rats in the building (you can hear their squeaks at night), the breakfast is very meager, and the elevator is super slow; it seems more like a service elevator because it is used more by the staff than by the guests. The only good thing is its location, close to a subway and facing Central Park.

Stay somewhere else! Despite a lovely staff, this hotel is a disaster. Zero maintenance, nothing works (AC - blows hot, showers falling apart with screws either missing or loose, TVs not working).. the carpets are filthy. And the worst part is - if you look at the responses (clearly auto generated because it says the same thing to each negative review) they clearly do not care and are doing NOTHING about any of the issues. Hotels like this are what give NYC a bad reputation. I have spent plenty of time in budget hotels both in NYC and globally and this was the worst by far.

Very bad experience, and I am usually very forgiving. Broken items in the room, I had to play handyman and do some repairs just to be comfortable and have proper use of the room. Old and dilapidated rooms that need total renovation. The Wyndham name looks bad being associated with this property. Being on a street with brownstones in the $5-10 million range, this property should be on a higher level.
