Hampton Inn Secaucus (Meadowlands Area)

Beware best western Stayed at best western premier in Secaucus NJ from May 7-12. My wife and I came back to the hotel on Friday the 8th and found our door was totally open and my wife’s suitcase was opened. This was after we requested no housekeeping service during our stay. The outrage was incredible as not only was our room left open but anyone not only hotel staff had access to our room and belongings, but my wife’s suitcase was fearful of entering our room as she didn’t know who could have been hiding to attack her. The incident was reported to the hotel as well as corporate and an additional email was sent to the VP of best western named Mark Hoefling. I was sent an apologetic email with admittance that the hotel staff left my door open They proceeded to downplay the event and had absolutely no concern for the safety of the guests They offered me a $75 discount off my 5 night stay which I consider as an insult and an embarrassment. I would highly suggest avoiding a stay in any best western hotel if this is how management values your privacy and security. I would also advise against staying at best western when a senior executive considers a documented safety and security violation as too trivial for his involvement Protect yourself and your family. Do not risk staying at best western

Let me say, I love BW. One thing that keeps me coming back is the breakfast. After hanging out who has time to worry about where they are going honest the next morning. Now me! Now let’s get into this review. This was a fairly good BW. The hotel has a modern updated feel. The room was equipped with a microwave and mini fridge. This is need nowadays. The bathroom had a nice standup shower BUT the sliding door would not seat closed. Chyle, that door kept creeping open like a thief in the night. LOL. The room was clean but needed a few minor upgrades. See the pics. Now why didn’t they CLEAN the shower. There was mold/mildew in one of the corners and the ceiling paint was peeling. The shade in the room was stained. I feel like these things would have been caught if there was some sort of quality inspection. My first night, the TV wasn’t working but it was handled the next day. I can say, the response time to issues is fairly good. Overall, for the price I paid, BW is always my go to option. The manager did contact me within 24 hours about my feedback. Next time offer me a DISCOUNT. Bottom line, yes I would stay at the BW again and you should too. The hotel is 5 minutes from American Dream Mall!

Very nice rooms and well decorated, large space. I would definitely stay there again - great value. If you travel with pets just know that first floor rooms do not exist and there wasn't a trash recepticle for pest waste outside. Great staff.
