Starlux Hotel

I had always wanted to stay at the StarLux ever since I was a child coming to the Wildwoods, so finally getting the chance to stay here was quite a treat. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed. The property was extremely clean and very well maintained. One of the first things that stood out was the large indoor lounge area. It was welcoming and spacious, with a billiards table, large curved couches surrounding a fireplace, additional chairs and tables, and one TV mounted on the wall. There is also a laundry facility, along with 24-hour coffee, tea, and juice, which was a very nice touch. The front desk/check-in area is small, but the manager working during our stay was absolutely lovely. She even took the time to show us some of the other room options, including one of the large family suites. We were so impressed with the family suite that we are already planning to stay in one on our next visit. We stayed in Room 410 and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it felt because of the layout. As you enter, the bathroom is to the right, followed by the queen bedroom area with a long dresser, mounted TV, and open closet space. Straight ahead was a separate sitting area with a pull-out sofa, end table, and a second mounted TV, along with a cute kitchenette area with two bar stools, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, and plenty of useful space. The room also had lots of windows and a small balcony overlooking the pool with two chairs and a table. Most importantly, the room was very clean. I am usually someone who feels the need to wipe down and disinfect everything when I arrive at a hotel, and I did not feel that way here at all. One thing to be aware of is that the bathroom has virtually no counter space or shelving for toiletries. There was a very small shelf, but it was not large enough to be very useful. If you travel with several toiletries, I would recommend bringing some type of small rolling cart, organizer, or other portable storage option that can be brought into the bathroom. The gated pool and hot tub area was also very nice, with plenty of lounge chairs. The property has grills with outdoor seating nearby, mini golf with discounted coupons available to guests. There is also an elevator and guest-only parking, with a parking pass provided for your vehicle. The location is excellent. The StarLux is literally across the street from the boardwalk, which made getting around extremely convenient. The only other minor areas I would suggest improving are some of the older bathroom fixtures, particularly the sink faucet, toilet handle, and bathtub/shower fixtures. They are beginning to show their age and could use an update. My husband’s only suggestion was better signage. When we first arrived, there was no clear sign directing us to the check-in area, so we initially walked into the lounge thinking that was where we were supposed to go. It would also be helpful to have signage letting guests know that the ice machines are located on the second and fourth floors. Those are very small suggestions and did not negatively impact our stay. Considering the age of the property, it is clear that a great deal of care goes into maintaining it. Overall, we had a wonderful stay with no real complaints. The property was clean, comfortable, welcoming, well located, and full of amenities. We enjoyed it so much that we are already talking about making the StarLux part of an annual family Wildwood trip. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful experience! Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Joanne at the front desk was awesome! So very knowledgeable about not only the amenities but the Wildwood area! It’s not often you find someone so willing to help! The pool was awesome and well maintained. Will definitely stay here again without a doubt!

Stayed at Starlux Boutique Hotel and it stands out from most places around here. The whole retro style could’ve been gimmicky, but it actually works. It’s clean, updated where it matters, and just feels a little more thought-out than typical spots. Rooms aren’t huge, but they’re set up smart and everything functions the way it should. No issues, no surprises. The pool and outdoor areas are a vibe—especially at night. Not loud, just relaxed and a little different. Location in Wildwood is solid. Easy to get around without being stuck in the middle of the chaos. Good option if you want something with a little personality instead of the same standard stay.
