74 State, an Ascend Collection hotel

I made a reservation through a national third party site months ago. When I arrived and started to check in, the manager casually handed my ID back and stated “we canceled your reservation”. I had already paid for the reservation. He told me they were overbooked and I could call the third party site to try to find accommodations for the night. The hotel did not contact me or the third party site prior to the moment I tried to check in. The manager was callous and unhelpful. It was a very bad experience. To make matters worse, there is no parking so I had to pay for parking at a nearby garage while being told I had no hotel room (and scrambling to find alternate accommodations).

Just checked in to this hotel. Hallways are cold. Ok maybe rooms are better. No even worse. Room thermostat showing 56 degrees an icebox. At least room is nice size. Think I was able to get thermostat working. But disappointing no one caught this before guest checked in.

Location was great, near lots of restaurants and the mvp arena. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was better than most hotels that include it with the room price.
