FAIRFIELD INN ALBANY UNIVERSIT

Our check in went well. Beds were comfortable. Free hot buffet breakfast was non existent. Becky Robinson who claimed to be a manager was extremely rude, after my husband asked for a later checkout as advertised. She pounded on our door stating she called her boss and had a number for me. I spoke to her boss Melinda who I relayed the lack of training for her staff. As if they were busy and unable to accommodate the free late checkout that is all they had to say. That this never had to become such a confrontation. We are understanding that sometimes things like this were unavailable. What we didn’t understand was her attitude. Melinda offered us the free late checkout but only if we were willing to pay $60. I told her it’s a free service you offer and I would not be willing to pay. As we were there for a college tour and had a break which was why we were inquiring. I don’t think yelling at your guests and pouring on their doors is appropriate. I do believe the staff of this hotel should spend less time outside smoking and more time on customer service classes

A decent older property. The rooms have been refreshed. But the building is older. My windows were fogged and they definitely let sound in. Comfortable mattress. Fridge and microwave in the room and internet streaming tv. . But there were some cleanliness issues. Carpet poorly vacuumed. And toilet not cleaned properly. Price was standard for the area. And close to University of Albany and 10 min to the airport

This place is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at . Back in February there was a man passed out in front of my door and when I went to front desk they knew exactly who it was . The sane stay there was a couple fighting and it got loud enough where people were outside listening. When I talked to management they informed me this property was a emergency shelter The place is dirty and smells like weed . The common areas have trash and looks like never been vacuumed. My last stay was the final straw my room smelt like snoop dogg was the previous guest and had to switch rooms . I complained to front desk and asked for someone to call me and no one did . I emailed and called about a dozen times and nothing. I called marriot and then the property gave me 5k points which is ridiculous but still didn’t call I would rather sleep in the car then stay here which is unfortunate cause the front desk staff is good and breakfast is good
