Needed a place to stay near family ... picked this hotel because of free off-street, non-valet parking and decent price... Excellent breakfast for a chain hotel -- lots of different foods (incl. eggs, sausage, make-your-own waffles, french toast, fruit, good croissants, breads for toast, cooked oatmeal, etc.); in the top 10% of hotel-chain breakfast foods. Parking lot is tight -- not great if you have a large vehicle because of the concrete pillars (tight squeezes when the lot is full) -- but it's rare for a hotel in NYC to have its own on-site parking lot, so was welcome. The room had nice decor and a large TV, but the bathroom is small and dated (typical of NYC hotels), with peeling wallpaper in places and the floor kinda dirty in places where it meets the walls; carpet dated but not horrible. Stayed on Saturday night in mid-May 2026.

This is the place to stay in Queens. Consistently rated highly on trip advisor, more so than most other hotels here, especially at this price point. Consistently friendly staff. Consistently clean rooms. FREE PARKING !!!! It has its quirks, so be prepared: the sinks are in the room's foyer; there are no stairs to the parking deck; there is just one elevator. But these are not at all important unless you are looking for a modern, $400 room. If you are sensitive to noise, you might want to ask for a room on the side away from Northern Blvd. The BW chain seems to have shifted to Direct TV in guest rooms, which was posing signal trouble during our stay, and which does not have a particularly useful channel directory. But one does not come to NYC to watch tv.

This old hotel has an HVAC system where the heat is always on even when it says it’s off. May be true with AC; you should ask before booking. We switched rooms but the problem is in every room. It was so hard to sleep we had to open the window.
