Econo Lodge Inn & Suites

I booked this as a quick overnight to continue my trip to Western NY. Wow, what a mistake!! We got there late, about 10:30pm to check in. Also, I wasn’t born yesterday. I know that Binghamton is not the greatest area of NY(rated in top 10 worst cities in NYS) but this was absurd. I also thought being at the corner of routes 81/17 that there would be a lot of travelers at the location. Totally wrong. We got to the check out and the woman behind the counter(the only positive- she was extremely nice) gave me our room card(said Room #615) and told me we had to drive all the way around the complex to the other end to get in. On our way around to the other side we saw two hookers with 4 men hanging by a car, then we pulled up to the area where our car was and there was a couple drinking and smoking weed in the parking lot. Ok well that’s not illegal anymore but still, just not something that should be allowed around a hotel. We unpacked and there were two men drinking and obviously drunk by the door. They told us it was unlocked, which is a security concern cause it should be locked at 10:30pm. We walked in and walked upstairs. When we got to room 615 we could hear people inside. We turned around and went back to the main desk where the woman told us that our room was 516 and that someone must’ve wrote 615 on it which is just dumb cause it should be explained beforehand. We came back to the room(yea at this point I’m sure you’re asking ‘why didn’t they just leave?) and again we see the couple drinking and smoking weed in the car as well as multiple people drinking around the door, people walking and yelling throughout the hallways and one woman clearly drunk and just parked her car to go into her room. We walked into the room and there were holes in the walls, the lights didn’t work and the beds looked dirty. We packed up the second time, drove to the front and told the front desk we were not staying there that we would go somewhere else. She immediately apologized and said I would get a full refund while having a look of surprise at what I was telling her, meanwhile she has a screen of 24 cameras in front of her at the desk so she can see everything going on. I would never go there again, nor recommend it to anyone. It’s unsafe, dirty, shady, noisy, and just all around not a nice hotel. The only nice part was the woman behind the desk and the young man I spoke with on the phone the next day. If anyone is even thinking about this, drive another half hour to Owego. There are three nice hotels to choose from there!!!

Dirty...old furniture...cheap place econo lodge at Binhhamton 690 old front street.we cancelled when we saw the room..no problem to cancel and refund. Red roof beside this hotel is better..same price.

I enjoy my stay each and every time I stay in the Econo lodge... the staffs friendly and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, friendly, clean, atmosphere this is definitely the place to stay whenever you just need to get away or for a quiet business trip!!! Bring your family or your friends or bring both!!! You won't regret it!!!
