Lake 'N Pines Motel

Motels have the right to set strict check-in times, but refusing to let us hang on the property 1 1/2 hours before check-in is poor customer service and spoiled the start of our stay. We will book at the Bayside Inn and Marina next time. They are more welcoming and flexible for their guests.

Wonderful family run motel just north of Cooperstown, NY and just one mile from the Glimmerglass opera house. We had a balcony room with a great view of the lake. The room was exceptionally clean with refigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The grounds are well maintained with picnic tables and grills available. They have indoor and outdoor pools and spa and sauna. They also have a game room. We stay here for close proximity to the opera festival which is one mile away. We have been coming here for years and are always happy with our stay.

On the plus side, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the hot tub worked well. The list of negatives is much longer: the size of the bathroom, the flimsy shower curtain, the spartan furniture, and the obstructed view of the lake (I reserved a lake view room and assumed it would be a good view - very disappointing).
