Long drive and needed a place to stop for the night. This was right off of the highway and had relatively good reviews. We’ve never stayed at a Red Roof. This was a fine choice for one night; (And, I tend to be a stickler for accommodations.)
Room itself was clean. Linens were clean and soft. Mattress and pillows seemed lumpy.
Bathroom was clean but shower somewhat stained. Water pressure was excellent and hot.
Wi-Fi was good.
Carpet portion of room and outside room is dated and worn (most of room is laminated however).
Easy on off access to highway.

Front desk personnel seem to disappear for smoke breaks, as does the one luggage cart they seem to have. Floors and beds seemed clean, but odd, square, and lumpy pillows on the bed. The room felt a little dark, and we were unable to open the curtains enough to let some light in. From the outside, some curtains were falling off the tracks. I did not see an elevator and was very glad we were on the bottom floor. To get to the ice machine on the second floor, I had to walk all the way down to the opposite end of the hotel from the front desk, go up the stairs, and go all the way across to the other end of the hotel (basically above the check-in desk). It's good that I'm able-bodied enough to do that.
Some of the tiles in the shower appeared dark in areas, like perhaps there's some mold. Basically, the rooms could use some updating.
We were in room 104, and during our first night there, some kids were hanging out outside because it's so close to the entrance. I pulled back the curtain just enough to see who was making the noise. Thankfully, parents rounded up their kids before it got too late, and the noise stopped.
Like I said, not the best, but certainly not the worst. A nearby brand-name hotel was charging more than double the price, so this Red Roof Inn was actually sold out when we were there.

Start with the staff we met were both super nice. Two receptionists.
But:
- no hot water the last 2 days of our visit
- water leaked through the window onto the blower leaving a puddle on top
- 3 nights, no maid service
- thick curtains not able to be opened because the parking lot light outside the window was so bright.
- old and worn throughout
- back door would decide to not open, even with the key.
- no elevator, plus luggage plus old knees - not fun
A great location for dining, groceries, etc, and about 30-40 min to Cornell/Ithaca.
But our visit, especially with prices inflated for Cornell’s graduation, was a disappointing one.
