From the hallways to the rooms, the hotel smells like a homeless shelter. I called the front desk for air freshener and was told housekeeping had left for the day. They acknowledged the odor and blamed long-term tenants, which is unacceptable. Air freshener is inexpensive—this shows a lack of care for cleanliness. Do not book here.

I liked the WV Eurohostel more than I thought I would. The rooms are tiny. You have to know that and be ok with that going in. I was traveling with my 12-year-old daughter, and we said we weren't going to do anything in the room but sleep, so tiny was ok. We wound up hanging out in the room and even eating some carryout there, and it wasn't too bad. The shared bathroom works out just fine. There were other people, sure, but I never had to wait to use the shower or the toilets. And they are kept very clean. The desk staff and the cleaning staff were really nice and friendly. That's what made me like the place even more than I'd expected. Also, the staff is available by text and they really respond right away and in a helpful manner. For instance, while out and about, I asked where the nearest Citi Bike station to the hotel was, and they got right back to me so I could plan our route. I would stay there again and happily save money on a trip to New York.
