Insulting front desk and owners. Lack of service and restoration to the buildings infrastructure. This building has a smell of dead rats or of something dead decaying in the vents. Price is a JOKE, 2,200 for rent. More like 400 dollars a month. 400$ is what others pay a month!!!! ASK THE COMMUNITY THAT LIVES THERE

It was really a horrible experience in Dec 2005, and I’ve paid : US DOLLORS135.14 for one night !!! Not cheap at all. I checked in around 11:55pm and got a room. Once in the room, I had a problem with the lock. I got locked inside and could not get out. Since there was no line telephone in the room, I called the reservation center at 8003468357 at 00:06, using my mobile phone. They told me the number of the reception desk at 2128651414. I kept calling this number till 00:26. But nobody answered. I knocked at the door from inside but nobody came to help. Finally I got out of the room and then went to the reception desk located in another building. They gave me another room. I asked why nobody answered the call. They told me that they were not at the phone, and gave me another number of 2122229191 with a card of the hotel. I went to the second room, put down my luggage and went to the restroom outside. But this time, I was locked out of the room because the lock didn’t work either with the key blocked on it! I was in shirt. My feet were bare (shoes taken off). My mobile phone was in the room with my stuff. So I knocked at the neighbor doors for help. But nobody answered. I had no way but go to the reception desk in the other building, with my feet naked, worrying about that someone could get into my room when I was not at the door. I complained about this situation. It would make me crazy. The receptionist told me to calm down and think about common sense (but why not common service?) and that he would send someone to help me. So I went back and waited outside my room for about 30 minutes. Nobody came. I went downstairs and found another man of the same building. I asked why nobody came to help me. He said he knew nothing and was not aware of my problem. And he came with me to the door. We tried several times with his card and finally opened the door. I took my baggage and went with him to the reception desk in the other building and asked why nobody came to help me. The receptionist said he was sorry. And I had the 3rd room. The kind sir was always with me, he tried the lock of the door with me to be sure that it worked well this time. It was 1:40 in the morning. It took me almost 2 hours to have a good room (from 23:55pm to 1:40am). I found that parts of the hotel were still under renovation at that time. I don’t understand how unfinished rooms could be put into service. In the morning when I checked out, another guest told me at the reception desk that he had also some lock problems.

Well this was my 1st budget hotel I have stayed and to be honest my cousin and myself were really suprised how clean, airy and confortable the place was....Seeing the previous reviews I was panicking and having second thought about it, but we decided to stick to it and to be honest it is definetly a place i will stay again for the price..Some of the staff were friendly and helpful especially sean at the fron desk and for the price we hav paid I can't complain....By the looks of it they hav refurbished the place, its in the perfect location the stion its 2 minutes walk and all the local shops and restraurant are at our door step..Anyone who is on a budget should defitetly stay at the mount royal.....
