My family and I stayed in this hotel June 28-July 1. The final night of our stay, one of the hottest days of the year, the air conditioner broke in our room. We called maintenance three times, and were assured that the problem had been fixed all three times. We should have known that was not the case when the maintenance person left us with a box fan, just in case it didn't work. My family and I tried to sleep in a room that was easily 85-90 degrees. When I mentioned this to the person at the desk when we checked out, she said that she would speak with her manager and that we'd get a call. We never received a phone call. I called a week later and spoke with the same front desk attendant, gave her my number, and asked for a call from the manager. I never received a phone call. When checking my Hilton Honors account, I did notice that a points credit, the equivalent of 1/4 of 1 night, has been added to my account, without any conversation nor apology - so I guess that one of the 4 people sleeping in the room was reimbursed for their trouble. We have been a loyal Hilton Honors family for more than a decade, but I have never received service this poor from a Hilton hotel before. It's disappointing.

This hotel staff exhibited excellent customer service. When I experienced a shoe emergency after a sole started to come unglued, I asked the front desk if they had any “super glue.” They immediately sent someone to get their handyman. The handyman lent me a quick setting epoxy glue, suggesting that it would be the best choice. Their laundry person gave me a “retired” towel to protect my clothes. Their breakfast coordinator gave me some vinyl gloves so I wouldn’t glue my hands. And a front desk person made a conference room available to do the repair work. I couldn’t have expected or asked for any better help.

Pros: Spacious room, furnishings in good shape, good blackout curtains, and a comfy king bed. The bathroom is roomy, well-lit, and has a separate exhaust fan. Big plus there! Good towels, two of everything. The sliding door hardware and track system on the shower is truly impressive! (Note that housekeeping is EVERY OTHER day, but just ask if you need anything in the interim. ) Breakfast room was well-stocked, spacious, nicely lit, clean and attractive. Protein options included hard-cooked eggs and scrambled eggs, various breads (including a whole-grain wheat option) with peanut butter, and a light yogurt. My personal preference wound be to have a Greek yogurt in addition to the sugar-filled Yoplait, but hey, they didn’t consult me. There was a good supply of bacon, thin-sliced and cooked so uniformly that I’m convinced it’s cooked off-site in some hyper-efficient fashion. In any case it’s much better than some type of unappealing corporate sausage. Bacon always wins! Cons: Door to room 401 was sticking badly; mini- fridge in the room has no freezer. Housekeeping is every other day.
