Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan Chelsea

If you enjoy paying luxury prices for a room that feels like a hazardous DIY project, this is the place for you. We paid $400+ a night and walked into a room smelling strongly of vape smoke. The housekeeping is a joke—dirty walls and grime caked onto the back of the nightstand. But the absolute worst part was the bathroom mold, which management didn't even bother to clean; they literally just painted right over it, filling the room with noxious paint fumes that had my daughter coughing. Completely unacceptable, unsanitary, and a total health hazard. Save your money and stay anywhere else.

I booked a room at Sheraton Four Poinrs Chelsea but it was actually called the Chelsean. Same hotel. New owners. I had stayed there before but obviously some years ago. The room was large for a NY hotel and the bathroom seemed to have been renovated. However, the AC ran loudly and did not really cool the room. One lamp was not working. The desk chair was worn, with peeling upholstery. The elevators were worn, floors and walls scratched. I stayed only one night, the room was large, and the price was right which is why I gave it 3 stars. And Chelsea is a great location.

They double checked us into our room. After settling into our room on the 19th floor (with city views), when we arrived in the evening, there were suitcases and personal belongings of other people in our room, who had also used the beds and the bathroom. They put our belongings at risk by putting strangers in our room (passport, money and valuables). We went down to reception to report the problem and they moved our room instead of the group they had put in by mistake and they gave us a much worse room (with worse views and a musty smell). They told us that they would offer us a discount for the inconvenience and after confirming this several times with different hotel staff, to whom we had to explain our situation several times (since the problems there were were not communicated between them), they gave us the price initial from the hotel without any type of discount and they did not make any facility to resolve this problem.
