Comfort Suites Rochester

Location was good. Bed frames were sticking out from under the mattresses creating a trip and walking hazard. Other guests were very loud after midnight and they were slamming doors. Bath tub drain was broken. Breakfast area chairs were old and seat covers were torn. All hand sanitizer stations were empty including in the gym where they asked to have you sanitizer the machines you were using but you couldn't. Bike in the gym was broken.

We stayed here one night. The quality is very typical of Comfort Suite. What was not typical were the extra charges. We were travelling with our dog. I know almost all motels charge a pet fee - most seem to be $20, $40 or $50. The fee here was $100. (The night before we were at another Comfort Suite and the fee was $20). They also added a $150 deposit that we were told would be refunded in 10 to 14days (and it was). Plus a $5 parking fee. I know these tag on fees are set by the individual motels and not by Choice but they should be required to post the actual fees when reservations are made instead of "additional per fees may apply". I did congratulate the receptionist at check out for breaking the $100 barrier. (He just rolled his eyes.)

This lobby, halls and rooms are dirty. Furniture is stained. We found a dirty sock in our room. Hall and some rooms smell like cigarette smoke and pot. Do not trust the high average rating. This hotel is poorly cared for and in disrepair. Priceline had it rated 7.7 - I have no idea how. Def do not bring your family here.
