Super 8 Rochester - Fairgrounds Area

Not bad but not the cleanest. Breakfast and pool were fine. But we found a dried blood stain on a comforter we had been sleeping under and remnants of other guests’ stays under the beds.

Decent room for price. Older and not super clean. Thin walls. No hot tub as advertised and pool looked gross. Fitness room was “out of order”.

PLEASE DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. After a horrible, awful, two-night stay at the Baymont by Wyndham at Rochester, MN, I feel it IS my duty to WARN you NOT to stay at this place if you value your sanity and don't want to catch an infection. The pictures you see on here and travel/hotel booking sites are lies! They DO NOT represent the current run-down state of the place. My heart sank immediately my husband packed in the car park at the front of the hotel. Just looking at the building alone was enough to let me know this place was going to be trouble. But my husband had already booked so our money was locked in. I ignored my intuition, thinking I was just being paranoid, but no. It was WORSE THAN I THOUGHT. Immediately we entered, we were hit with this awful smell of mold, dirt, just awful stinky everywhere. The front desk was dirty, chairs in the lobby, old and dirty. I saw the place for breakfast and already knew my husband and I won't be eating there. I really tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe it was just the lobby, and that the rooms would be better. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! The air stank. The water stank (never used it to brush my teeth.) The carpets in the hallways were old and dirty, didn't look like they had been cleaned in ages. Carpet in our room, dirty. Old furniture in room. Bedsheets stank like fart(I'm not exaggerating!) AC is the old window AC types and very noisy. Doesn't chill the room. Bathroom old and ewwy. Just awful! Water pressure from the shower was so low, I only bathed once in our two-night stay. Oh, I didn't use their towels, thank God I brought my own. Never used their in room coffee and cups because I couldn't guarantee if the coffee machine had been cleaned. Oh, the fridge, terrible! The old fridge kind with frost and the inside looked dirty, racks a little rusty. I was so, so uncomfortable during my entire stay. I hated it here. Ugh the pool... I could smell the stinking water and the mold and dirty towels from the lobby!(there's a window in the lobby that overlooks the pool area). Please don't stay at this hotel. It is not as advertised and not worth the savings you think you're making based on the cheap price you're seeing. It doesn't get better after seeing the outside of the building. Every step you take from your car to your room keeps getting worse. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
