In June, I booked a one nite stay and 1 week parking for a cruise out of Port Liberty. But after receiving a confirmation email that did not show the 7 day parking I called the hotel. The representative said that the parking was included and there was a shuttle to the port that left at 10am on Saturdays. When we checked in yesterday, I confirmed the 7 day parking, but he said there was no shuttle anymore and we would need a taxi. There was no question he understood. Their parking seemed pretty full and limited, such that I was concerned about leaving our car, so I call the frontdesk the next morning. He explained that we could only park if we had a room for each night. I showed the representative where I could book the same room with free 7 day parking with a room for 1 day. In any case, do not book a room here if you want to leave your car fir a cruise.
The room was clean and modern. The staff were friendly but misleading, as was the booking process. It was noisy in the hall way and there was some kind of gathering in the parking lot until past midnight.

The Good: The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the A/C worked, towels were plentiful, and they had shampoo and conditioner on the wall in pump bottles, which makes more environment sense than mini containers.
The Meh: while I was happy to see a breakfast buffet in the morning, I noticed that there were less offerings than there used to be in the past. For example, there were cheese omelets and undercooked bacon, but no potatoes. There were bagels and bread, but no English muffins or cinnamon buns (as we expect at a Holiday Inn Express) . Still there was enough to get you going in the morning.
The Bad: the conditioner pump was empty.
The Worst: our room was by the door to the stairwell. I have no idea why but starting at around midnight (while I was trying to sleep), the door was opened and closed many times throughout the night. Each time it made a loud noise. At first I thought it was a group of people coming back to their rooms and I expected voices. But there were no voices. Just the loud door opening and closing, opening and closing. At 1 AM, at 2ish and who knows how late. Why were so many people using the stairs in the middle of the night? I did eventually fall asleep, but this stay was the noisiest I have experienced in a hotel in a long while. I'd like to think this is the sort of thing that does not happen every night, but I will not be staying here again to find out.
