Parkview Hotel

Something seriously wrong with this hotel! In January (5 months ahead of the stay at the Parkview) I booked and fully prepaid for three rooms for Syracuse University graduation weekend in May. I paid for the rooms directly through the hotel website as was their policy for graduation weekend. I could not even make the reservation without prepaying in full. I received confirmation from the Parkview confirming the reservation and payment. Four days before check in in May I received a call from the manager Paige saying I needed to give her my credit card number and pay again or they were cancelling my rooms. I sent her emails with the confirmations they had sent me and she demanded copies of my January credit card receipts showing I’d already been charged and paid (I also emailed these to her). I called her several times after sending the documentation and she said I was good and no problem. However, at check in she claimed amnesia to the whole previous four days calls and emails and said my rooms were not paid for and I had to pay again or she was giving my rooms to someone else. I had copies of the email exchange which she claimed she never read and she said the only way I was getting the rooms was to pay again and then she said I should refute the additional charges with my credit card company (that was the only option she gave for us to be able to have the rooms -pay again and refute the charges with our credit card company). She knew we had no choice because Syracuse graduation weekend all the hotels are fully booked. I definitely felt scammed. I gave my credit card and refuted it with my credit card company so we would have rooms to stay in for the weekend. She ended up charging my card additional thousands $$$$ on top of what I had already paid back in January and much more than their actual room rate. My credit card company is investigating this hotel.

I really wanted to love this stay because the hotel staff were incredibly nice and welcoming, but the room itself was a massive disappointment—especially for over $220 a night. For that price, I expected a comfortable hotel experience, but it felt closer to a budget motel. The issues started the moment we walked in: * **The Smell:** The room had a persistent, musty odor that smelled exactly like humid, dirty socks. * **The AC Unit:** The window AC unit was so violently loud that it kept waking us up. We actually chose to turn it off and sleep in a hot, humid room just to get some peace. * **The Walls:** There was a bizarre plumbing issue where, every so often, a loud sound of rushing/falling water would echo inside the bathroom walls, waking us up yet again. * **The Breakfast:** The options were so extremely limited and unappealing that we decided to just skip it entirely. I usually don’t write negative reviews, but the value for the money just isn't there. If you're charging premium prices, you need to deliver premium quality. Sadly, we won't be returning.

Shocking experience at check in Having travelled from the UK..my NYC flight was cancelled I contacted property via booking .com, emailed the property and called ( no answer) with no response Seemingly the property dont monitor these !! I arrived to be told as a no show my reservation had been cancelled.. Javon (front of desk) then offered me my room at $149 per night..though it was still available ( hotel was empty) The general manager, the most abrupt /rude woman i have ever encountered intervened with 'this is my problem how'!! Before amusing themselves by telling me to either rebook or leave their property. Thankfully I did neither and the manager arrived an hour later. to apologise and honour the booking as in his words..we will be paid by booking.com on your departure regardless of a no show for 24 hrs. Sorted..until I check out and the wonderful Javon is on duty..he tries to charge me for my stay..threatens me with the police .tells me to get to f*** out his hotel and he will take the money off my card and forget about my deposit being repaid . He then attempts several times to take payment off my card..all declined. Please avoid this horrible hotel at all costs. Thanks to the kind manager, hes far too nice to be associated with the duo of Javon and General Manager, Paige Smith, who need to consider alternative employment, or the New owners Hanpton need to invest in a customer service course Truly horrendous individuals and experience for a solo traveller . Please avoid this hotel.. There are far better alternatives in the town
