The Ashford Inn

Stayed in the violet cottage last night. Maybe they are under new owners bc all the good reviews are misleading. Found a couple roaches while there, very gross. Seemed like the room was prepared a while back and no one has been in to check it out for a while. Was a quiet location so that was nice. “Breakfast” portion of the “bed & breakfast” is just some snacks and juice in your room so don’t bank on that. A bunch of decaf k cups and like 2 regular ones lol. The “contactless” nature was odd, no personal checking in or hospitality whatsoever, just auto generated emails telling us when to come and when we had to leave (BEFORE 10). I don’t know if we were even allowed in the main house, it looked deserted so we stayed away. Basic accommodations and fine enough but just an odd experience. Would not go back.

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at this clean, comfortable and elegant home. I have allergies and sometimes hotel stays are hard but I had no issues. Grab and go breakfast worked well for our plans. Common spaces were great as well. Highly recommend.

Well aware and accepting of their NO REFUND policy for holiday bookings, we made plans to celebrate New Year's Eve in Clinton, NC with some out-of-town friends and made reservations at the Ashford Inn. Due to an unfortunate turn of events, we had to cancel our New Year's Eve plans, including our stay at the Inn. Hoping for, but not expecting, a refund, we regrettably canceled our reservation. We know they were not obligated to do this, since the policy is clearly stated on the booking portal. To our pleasant surprise, Ashford Inn graciously refunded our deposit in full, no questions asked. We just wanted to express our appreciation and gratitude to the Ashford Inn owners for their generosity. A heartfelt Thank You, from our family to yours. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
