Quality Inn Elizabeth City

Joan, Breakfast Hostess 7/30/26. Breakfast was very good. Fresh, warm and filling. The dining room was clean and inviting. The atmosphere was quiet with good smells.

Hotel is in poor shape, run down and showing it’s age. Room we were assigned at checkin was not made up and in complete disarray. We were assigned a new room. After finally getting settled in and turning in for the night, we found that one of the two double beds had not been changed and reeked of the previous perfumed occupant. It was very late so we just shared the other (thankfully) clean bed. The next morning the shower had bugs in it and the toilet flushed so slowly that toilet part alone would not go down. On checkout, I spoke with the manager and was told that she guaranteed that the room had been cleaned and I was wrong! She kept asking me what I wanted. I believe that attitude compounds the problems they are having with maintenance and housekeeping by taking ownership and proactive action for customer satisfaction and problem resolution.

I wanted to highlight the service I received from the front desk attendant, Rachel. Absolutely fantastic. I travel frequently and she is without question the friendliest and most helpful hotel employee I've ever encountered. It is worth staying at this property just to experience how a top notch hotel front desk experience should feel. Kudos to Rachel. I hope she is rewarded and promoted for her efforts.
