1898 Waverly Inn

We had a great experience. Mike was very nice and efficient in every thing he did. The room was very clean with lots of modern updates. Breaking was great; every morning something different to eat if you so choose. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and the waterfalls we wanted to see were within a relatively short distance by car. We will be back…

We were here for only one night. This is a lovely 1898 vintage traditional B & B facing a busy main street within walking distance of downtown Hendersonville. It's a well-managed property with nice common rooms and a good breakfast. Both the first and second levels have porch verandas facing the main street, with plenty of rocking chairs. There is complimentary wine in the afternoon. There are 4-5 parking spaces at the rear of the house---otherwise there is street parking on a side street. Be aware that there are steps up from the parking area, and that the steps to the second floor are steep. But the innkeeper can help with luggage. We had a 2nd floor King Room--just fine, but average-sized and fairly basic. It had a small TV and a small bathroom (sink was in the bedroom). The bathroom did have a nice walk-in shower. One issue was that there was a step up into the bathroom, which could be a bit dangerous in the middle of the night. The only other issue here was that there was much street noise in the early morning--it was a weekday.. None of these were big issues for us. Overall, a nice stay. It should be noted that we have stayed in well over 100 traditional B & B's (close to 150) over the years, and thus tend to be more finicky in our reviews.

True southern hospitality! The service was great! The rooms are very comfortable and clean. You order what you want for a delicious breakfast. Their afternoon social is especially nice since they have an extensive menu of wines, beers and local craft beers, served with a cheese and relish plate!
