Sleep Inn (Durham)

Our family booked two rooms next to each other since our family is big. One of the rooms smelled decent, while another smelled terrible. It smelled like it hadn’t been air freshener in a long time. The bathrooms were also pretty small, and barely had any space. There was no soap, or shampoo. They gave breakfast, which was mid at best. There were waffles and bagels, but the water and juice were very lukewarm. This hotel was not atrocious, but not very good

I was moved three times during my one night stay. The king room I booked for had no AC. I was moved to a queen. The queen had a toothpick under the sheets and ROACHES IN THE BED. I was moved to a double queen the toilet was broken, there was no wall mount for toilet paper and the sheets were dirty.I requested a full refund and was given the runaround. The manager Sam was not helpful at when trying to rectify the situation. I would not recommend staying here AT ALL. Also the elevator is hazardous.

PROS: clean room; well equipped; walk-in shower (very hot water, strong pressure); acceptable blackout curtains; strong wi-fi; convenient location; friendly staff CONS: frequent elevator malfunctions (door opens and closes repeatedly); breakfast is sub-par and not worth getting up for; no mechanism to prevent water from running under shower door...bath mat gets soaked; uncomfortable mattress.
