Affordable Suites Rocky Mount

This place is really run down now. Stained and visibly worn carpets and dinghy sofas. Stained towels and stray hairs were in the first room offered. I requested a new room. TIna “upgraded” me to a different room. Still with rundown and stained carpets. It’s one step above a trailer park. Complete with chain smokers and stray dogs. Tina is the live on site person that halfway runs the place. We had two bad episodes that lead us to check out early. 1. 11 pm an aggressive dog was at the car and would not leave so guest could enter room. We called the city animal control and police non emergency number. An officer had to come to escort the guest into the building. When I called Tina, she was very abrupt and rudely cut me off to say she doesn’t have anything to do with it and she would not call for the city to send any officers. No professionalism and extremely poor guest service. Second incident was the next day, (no one is at the desk on Sundays or after 7pm). The key was not working. When I called Tina again she was rude and agitated. She immediately jumped to “so what did you do to the key??” When the guest met her at the lobby, she told them in a nasty tone that she should be charging them $25 to reprogram the key card. The key was not lost, the magnetic strip didn’t work. She was so out of line and embarrassed me for trying to host a guest there. This is not a place to go or have your guests stay if you expect a clean, safe, respectful, professional encounter. She was so glad to retort there are no refunds since we checked out a day early due to her uncouth behaviors and inability to manage stressful situations. Management is nonexistent for problem Solving. I do not recommend this place at all.

Rooms were nice, to problem there, night time activity was the problem, knocking on doors all night, fights outside all night, loud talking running up and down stairs all night, no management on site, just not a family oriented place to stay, price is not what they advertise it is higher when you get final bill

Family stay (not teens but adult son). Nice layout with bedroom area in the back (no door) . Kitchen with stove, sink, apartment size fridge (but it was freezing some of our food), and equipped with basic utensils, dishes, etc. Great location...near Walmart, Planet Fitness, Christ Fellowship Church (is an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church with friendly folks). Room shows aging and a fair amount of stains on floors. Not great water pressure in shower. Had sleeper sofa and table/chairs in living area. Worked well for 3 people. Room keys kept failing and had to be replaced. Reasonable price. No breakfast. Friendly staff. Would stay again.
