Beau Rivage Golf & Resort

I came down to Wilmington for a family vacation and played a couple golf courses here. This course was by far the worst the conditions were terrible from the greens to the tee boxes. The greens were so slow and just in terrible condition. Also the course layout was terrible. I played the municipal course in Wilmington and it was so much better while being cheaper. I would advise everyone not to play this course it was terrible. Save your money and go to the municipal course.

Substandard room ; no secure lock (deadbolt with key) shabby furniture ; balcony not clean; blocked off closet in bedroom, refrigerator needed defrosting and was leaking water; uncomfortable bed; terrible cable choices on tv; felt like I was staying at Motel 6

Stayed at the hotel as part of a family reunion. I wish the person who organized it had made a different choice, but I know she was concerned about budget, and this property is certainly less expensive than others. The front desk and banquet staff were nice. The banquet food was decent, but unfortunately the sleeping rooms and service were terrible. First and foremost -- the hotel is not ADA compliant. They cannot fall back on the "Grandfathered" excuse. The ADA has been in place since the '90s. We had a family member with a walker and she could not even get her walker through the doorway. Her daughter had to buy a portable. There was no ramp, much less an elevator. No shower stalls, only tubs. Steps everywhere. Our family member had to use a freigh elevator to get to the banquet space. The rooms were unfortunately dark, shabby and dirty. Ours smelled of mildew so obviously carpet and drapes not replaced for sometime. At the beach this should be done every 2 years. Paint was peeling everywhere. The hairdryer fell apart. Housekeeping consisted of new towels being delivered. Beds were not made up and the bathroom wasn't cleaned at all. When we asked the manager on duty about it he said, "they said they came and fixed the bed". They didn't. He said he'd send them back, but they never appeared. I did not experience pickleball or the pool. It's nice those are offered. My son enjoyed the pool. The whole place is rundown. Common spaces are a bit better than the rooms, but I can't recommend unless you really like the golf course which seems to be a draw. If you have a more ample budget, stay in Wilmington (such a cute town) or Carolina Beach, right on the ocean. This place is kinda nowhere.
