Homewood Suites Columbus Worthington

My wife and I have been on a week long vacation to Nashville staying a 3 different Holiday Inn Express hotels. The last one is here leaving us only 4 hours from home. The location is just off the I70 on 270 west. We arrived mid afternoon and checked in. I get a wheeled cart and take it out to the car and load it up to find it has a flat tire when loaded. So I got another cart and reloaded it. I took the bad cart in and told the front desk person and she said that she knew it already. So why did she not tell me before I used it and had to redo everything. Then my wife asked for our complementary water for being Elite members, the desk person said they don't do that because the owner is cheap. We didn't know how cheap until we stood at the only elevator in the building for 5 minutes to go to our room. Then every time we used it it was slow to get to us. By the way, out of the three HIE we stayed at this is the only one with a single elevator. We get to our room that's supposed to be a suite and find it's about the size of a normal room but has a couch with a single very small window. Then I went down to get some local restaurant information and there was no one at the front desk. I called into the back several times and nothing. I waited close to 10 minutes before the desk person came in from outside. Then, the most disgusting thing of all there was there no cover on the box springs exposing a huge nasty stain, all of the other HIE we stayed at had a cover over the box springs. The room and bathroom were fairly clean but there was a couple of hairs on the bathroom floor. I will say the person responsible for the breakfast area was very nice. The actual food serving area was very small with less offerings than the other HIE properties we stayed at. Would I stay here here again, no, this was the worst of all of the three hotels from this trip.

Booked this hotel through another third party site for an overnight stay on my way back home from the east coast. I booked because of the reviews on that site with alot of those reviews mentioning cleanliness of the hotel. Was just wanting a clean place to shower and rest before getting back on the road the next morning. Check in was fast and the receptionist that night seemed nice enough. I get to my first room and begin to do my usual surface wipe down ritual, once I make it to the bathroom I notice the shower almost immediately it was gross, mold and and other unidentified stains were very noticeable. The shower looked as though it had been neglected for months if not longer I was completely disgusted. I called the front desk immediately to see if I could get a different room. I was given a second room and the first thing I check was the shower and it was the same exact issue as the first room, maybe 5% cleaner. I called the receptionist to see if i would be able to get a refund as I planned to check out right away and not waste another minute at the hotel. She said I would have to speak with the manager the next morning about it. I left the hotel within 20 minutes of checking in. I still have yet to be able to contact Management after 2 weeks. Each time I call the receptionist that answers tells me she's not there or that she just left for the day and won't be back, or that she's off for the next several days. This same receptionist told me that he himself had inspected both rooms and saw nothing wrong with them. The third party website has also attempted to contact the hotel manager and they also can never seem to reach her.

Tara made sure we were happy with our room. She was very accommodating to us. We certainly appreciate the excellent hospitality received. This location has gained us as customers as we received horrible customer service after our cruise at Crossroads Hutchinson Ave with a so called manager last time we were in Columbus. We are loyal IHG customers and this particular Manager shows customers the respect we should receive from all locations. We love our IHG hotels. Shout out to Tara. This location is also much cleaner.
