Red Roof Inn & Suites Cleveland - Elyria

Friendly staff! And EV charging is in the same parking lot!

I was traveling with my family on vacation and we needed simple accommodations for one night of our road trip to break up our drive. We stayed in one of the suite rooms (2 double beds plus pull out sofa) since we have a family of five. Pulling in to the parking lot, it was well-lit but there were at least two cars that were completely disabled (smashed in and/or flat tires) parked in the spots. Not a great vibe. The front desk staff was friendly and check in was easy. The lobby wad dated but fine. Upon entering our room, we were greeted with an overwhelming odor of must/mold/smoke and who knows what. The room was dated and definitely not clean. It was poorly lit and felt so grimy. When we pulled out the sofa for my daughter to sleep on, there was a fitted sheet on the bed which was clearly used and stained, and then a thin blanket all crumpled up in a ball. I had to go down to the front desk to ask for new linens. We found trash under the pull out sofa so clearly housekeeping does not do a thorough job. I had to go back down to my vehicle to retrieve an item, and upon return noticed that one of the side doors was propped open. Not great from a security standpoint. The side stairwell reeked of marijuana. The floor was stained and there was peeling paint everywhere. The A/C cycling on and off all night was very loud and disruptive. The breakfast was ok - typical sugar-laden items, although there was bacon and some eggs which tasted like a gritty, watery substance. There was plenty of seating. I would stay here again only as a last resort. It was just gross and unpleasant.

The stay was ok, the beds was not really stable...it was moving away from the wall...other than that it was ok.
