The Golden Lamb

The food is excellent and served in an historic setting. Our dining room had Shaker influences. Service was great and we enjoyed our waiter. Only downside is it got quite noisy and made it hard to converse.

My friend and I stayed at the Golden Lamb Inn for an overnight get away. I stayed in the Harding room. It was extremely small. It would have been difficult for 2 people to be in there. The seating area consisted of two straight back chars and small table at the foot of the bed. The bathroom was extremely small. The shower was missing grout and the heater did not function properly. Management did try to address the problem. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable, and the Tavern food good. My biggest issue was that my friend stayed in the Grant room on the same floor, 2nd. It was twice the size, nice couch, redone bathroom, and sitting area. It was the same price. That does not make sense. Keep that in mind if booking on the 2nd floor.

We really appreciated the history that this place has, but the hotel is unfortunately not well-maintained. Check-in was chaotic—there was a dinner event going when we arrived and it was hard to hear the desk clerk (and she appeared to have zero interest). The hotel itself is interesting from a historical perspective, and the beds are honestly comfortable, but it’s also grimy (not “dated”—actually grimy). In our room, there were dresser drawers that were missing drawer pulls, layers of dust on on the lamps, and random things left behind from prior guests (party plates and a large hair clip, for example). The tv needed an upgrade and there was only one small mirror in the bathroom hung above my height, so plan to bring your own mirror for makeup, etc. For the price, I would not stay here again.
